We regularly pack and case industrial machinery; household
and personal effects; antiques and priceless works of art.
However, sometimes the unusual appears out of the woodwork.
The U.K. Government Foreign & Commonwealth Office awarded
Zagni International Freight a contract to pack and case over
half a kilometre of historical archive papers relating to
the Western Pacific Islands. The documents, virtually all
of them irreplaceable, dated from 1877 through to 1978.
After casing the books, shipment was effected to New Zealand
where the archives were handed over to Auckland University.
An abattoir was needed on the Falkland Isles and Zagni International
were awarded the contract to pack, case and ship the entire
factory and it's contents from the United Kingdom to Port
Stanley. Pre-fabricated steel; roofing materials; refrigeration
equipment and ancillary equipment was consolidated at our
premises in Hevingham before being packed and cased and then
loaded into 20' & 40' containers.
Altogether, 19 teu's left Hevingham loaded with different
parts of an abattoir. Spare a thought for the construction
workers in Port Stanley who had the job of putting it all
together!
Imagine a conservatory in kit form; doors, windows, a roof,
lots of glass and many ancillary parts. Now think of a way
to load all those parts safely into a container. Now ship
that container over 3000 miles. Now unload the container and
discover that there is no damage or breakages. That was the
task undertaken by the M.D. of Zagni International Freight,
Andrew Seales. He came up with a unique design pattern, which
proved so successful, Zagni now load containers all year round
for conservatory manufacturers.
When heavy seas off Norfolk in 1990 eroded part of the coastline,
the bones of a mammoth believed to be some 650000 years old
were revealed. Zagni were given the job of designing and building
specialist shock-absorbing palettes to assist in moving the
bones to a final resting place where they would be on display
to the public.
Whatever it is that you need to have packed or cased or loaded
into containers, get in touch with Zagni.
